For the first time ever, Ditto will have two new catchable costumed variants in the game. Ditto’s two new variants can be caught in the wild and, if you’re lucky enough, they can be shiny or feature an event-themed Special Background as well.
The two new Dittos are:
- Ditto wearing a hat
- Ditto wearing a cap
Just like how it has always been in Pokemon GO, you can catch these new variants by catching Ditto pretending to be other Pokemon in the wild.

In line with the Ditto-centric theme of the event, a new avatar item, Ditto Eye Mask, will be available for free in the in-game shop during the Pokémon Pokopia Celebration event in Pokemon GO.
The Ditto Eye Mask will still be available in the game even after the event ends.
Other featured Pokemon
Besides Ditto, the event will also feature several other Pokemon that are in line with the Pokémon Pokopia theme.
For wild spawns, players can catch Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Pikachu, Sudowoodo, Zorua, and more. In raids, Lapras, Snorlax, and Dragonite will all be appearing in Three-Star Raids.
All of these featured Pokémon can be shiny, with the Three-Star Raid Pokemon also having the chance to have an event-themed Special Background as well.
Pokémon Pokopia Celebration event bonuses and more
Just like every event in Pokemon GO, the Pokémon Pokopia Celebration event also has bonuses that will take effect once the event starts. Here is the list of all the event bonuses that are expected to be active during the Pokémon Pokopia Celebration event:
- 2× XP for spinning PokéStops.
- 10× XP for spinning a PokéStop for the first time.
- Increased chance to encounter Shiny Sudowoodo and Shiny Zorua.
Furthermore, the event will also have event-themed Field Research task rewards, a timed research, and an event-exclusive Collection Challenges. The rewards range from additional Startdust, in-game items, stickers, and event-themed Pokémon encounters (including both new Costumed Dittos).

Finally, you can also get Pokémon Pokopia-themed stickers by simply spinning PokéStops and Gyms, opening Gifts, and completing tasks in the Timed Research.
Now that you’re all set with knowledge regarding the latest Pokemon GO event, we hope to see you become the very best like no one ever was in Pokemon GO.
